Queens Skatepark Petition sign now

The borough of Queens does not have any Skateparks. A Skatepark is a designated area specifically built for the use of BMX Bicycles, Skateboards and Inline Skates. These sports are rapidly growing and are almost as popular as mainstream sports such as baseball and football. Riding bicycles and Skateboarding gives the youth of today an alternate sport outside of the team sanctioned sports. Riding and skating also helps keep kids occupied with something to strive for rather than getting in trouble and breaking laws. Thousands of towns across the country have parks just like these, but Queens does not. The building of a park such as this is crucial. In all the towns throughout Queens, there are individuals interested in these sports with nowhere to legally ride. People take action into their own hands and ride places illegally. This is a problem because no one would be breaking the law if we had somewhere to physically go and ride. We dont condone law breaking, but at this point there is no other place to ride. We the signed citizens agree that the city of New York should build a Skatepark in Queens.
