Put a Stop to Bakers Hill Puppy Mill in Western Australia sign now
Every Year we see a huge waste of life with the euthenising of thousands of companion animals. Our Shelters and Pounds are overflowing with unwanted or abused animals and all at the tax payers expense. Does it not make sense then to put an end to Puppy Mils that send out a constant flow of dogs and cats into society only to add more to the already horrific number of animals that are disposed of on a daily basis.
Not only are they adding to this already huge number, it is a documented fact that animals from Puppy Mills come with a high risk of health and behavioural issues.
As voters we have the power to put an end to the farming of our companion animals by letting our government know we will not remain silent in regards to this cruel and unneccassary industry. We will fight for those who cannot fight for themselves.
Stop the legal farming of Companion Animals
To Whom It May Concern
It has been bought to our attention that there is a Puppy Mill operating within Northam Shire in Bakers Hill. We are also aware that this operation was raided in June 2011 by the RSPCA, SAFE and members of the Shire. Upon contact with the RSPCA in regards to this Puppy Mill we were informed that this organisation had their license removed and it was now in the hands of Northam Shire. We contacted Northam Shire and were advised by a Phil Steven that the Shire had reinstated the Kennel License to this organisation after they had lifted the standard of care and were under quarterly inspections. Although this sounds well and good in writing it has been bought to our attention that this is not in fact the situation with this puppy mill.
We have been informed by those who have had interaction with these operators of the disgusting conditions these animals are kept in, the deplorable state of the animals themselves and the method of euthanasia these operators use and we will no longer be silent on how this has been allowed to continue over their time of operation and how it still continues today, even after the raid in 2011.
The people of Australia are becoming made more aware of the actions of Puppy Mill operators and we will no longer accept that this trade is a viable option in the business of Breeding Companion Animals. We witness on a daily basis the rising problems of unwanted or abused animals in our Pounds and Rescues and all at the taxpayer’s expense yet those in power deem it acceptable to allow the continuation of “Farming Companion Animals”
We, the voting public, call now for the closure of this cruel and inhumane Puppy Mill, which falsely claims to be a Shelter, and for action to be taken against those who have violated the rights of our companion animals all for their own financial gain.
Until such actions are undertaken we shall continue to bring this to the attention of the public via various means, be it rally’s, social networking or Media until We, the voices of the voiceless, are heard and the necessary changes are bought about to put an end to a cruel and barbaric trade in innocent lives.
